Can you trust preowned phones?

Are you considering purchasing a preowned phone or laptop? It’s no secret that the market for pre-owned electronics can be a bit of a minefield, often leaving buyers feeling uncertain and wary.

With stories of dodgy sellers and low-quality products, it’s essential to do your research before making a purchase. So, is Unboxxed the real deal?

We can’t decide for you. Here are 7 things to consider before buying refurbished tech:

1. Trusted payment providers

We prioritize your security. The payment provider is responsible for making sure that the transaction is secure, that it is not fraudulent, and for transferring funds from the customer to Unboxxed.

We use a well regarded South African payment process called PayFast. The Payfast payment gateway is a reliable payment software used for a large number of eCommerce stores and brands in SA.

PayFast provides dual authentication. This means that when you purchase a device from us using your debit or credit card, you will get a notification from your bank asking you to approve the transaction. The transaction will only be successful if you approve it via your bank.

2. Customer Satisfaction

At Unboxxed, keeping our customers happy is our top priority. Don’t take our word for it—check out our reviews on Hellopeter and our website to see what our customers have to say.

3. Social Media Presence

We engage with our refurbished phone fans, customers, and potential customers via various social media channels. This is an opportunity for us to share our brand message, as well as for our customers to connect with us. Check out our Facebook page, our Instagram profile, or our LinkedIn profile.

4. Legally Compliant

Unboxxed is a registered company with company name Unboxxed (Pty) Ltd and company registration number 2019/258239/07. We’re also VAT registered, with VAT number 4620304388. We’re also a registered importer and exporter with SARS with customs code CU25329986.

5. 1-year warranty on all preowned devices

Worried about the lifespan of your preowned device? Don’t be. All our products come with a 1-year warranty. If any issues arise, we’ll repair or replace your refurbished phone.

6. 14-days free return

This is perhaps our most important offer to our preowned device customers. We want our customers to be happy, and we really don’t want them to regret their purchase decision. We understand the uncertainty of online shopping. What if you purchase a device, and when it arrives you see that it is badly dented and scratched?

For this reason we offer free 14-day returns on all our devices. That’s why we offer free 14-day returns on all refurbished devices. If you’re not satisfied, we’ll arrange a full refund.

It is costly for us to arrange couriers and inspection on returns. This means that we work really hard to make sure that you’ll be happy with your preowned phone.

7. Care for the environment

By choosing Unboxxed, you’re contributing to environmental sustainability. Every refurbished device purchased helps reduce electronic waste, aligning with our mission to protect the planet.

This one is super important for us. The reason we founded Unboxxed is because we are concerned about the damage that we, as mankind, are doing to the environment.

Every year we generate over 53 million tons of electronic waste globally. Each person who buys a pre owned or refurbished device is helping to reduce this. If we were dodgy, we wouldn’t sell many devices and we wouldn’t make a difference.

Conclusion

At Unboxxed, we’re committed to providing quality products and exceptional service while making a positive impact on the environment. So, if you’re in the market for a pre-owned device, why not give us a try? Together, we can make a difference.
